Check & validate International Bank Account Numbers

The International Bank Account Number (IBAN) is an international standard for bank accounts to make payments across national borders. At first IBAN was developed for payments within the European Union but is now used globally.

International Bank Account Numbers consists of a ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 country code, followed by two check digits and up to thirty alphanumeric characters for the domestic bank account number, but the length is fixed for each country.

By combining Bank Indentifer Codes, sort codes and checksums routing errors in cross-border payments are virtually eliminated.
